Frequently asked questions
How much does Zielbock cost?
Every feature is free. There are no purchases and no subscription.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no account and nothing to sign up for. Your data stays on your own devices and in your private iCloud.
Does Zielbock access my bank account?
No. Zielbock isn't connected to any bank. You enter your account balances yourself. Zielbock doesn't open accounts or make transfers.
How do I sync between iPhone and iPad?
It happens automatically through your private iCloud once your device is signed in to iCloud. There's no switch for it. Without iCloud, Zielbock works entirely on your device. You can check the status in Settings → "iCloud sync".
How do I move my data to a new device?
Install Zielbock on the new device and sign in to iCloud with the same Apple Account. Your data will arrive on its own, which can take a moment.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Go to Settings → "Export data". Zielbock creates a JSON file with all your accounts, goals and plans and opens the share sheet, where you can pick "Save to Files", for example. There's no import.
How do I delete all my data?
Go to Settings → "Delete all data" and type "RESET" to confirm. This can't be undone. If you use iCloud sync, the data is deleted on your other devices too.
Can I lock Zielbock with Face ID?
Yes. Turn on the optional "App lock" in Settings. It uses the same unlock as your device, such as Face ID. If you've been in another app for more than 30 seconds, you'll need to unlock Zielbock again.
Can I show Zielbock to someone without revealing amounts?
Yes, with "Presentation mode". It hides money amounts, while progress percentages, names and dates stay visible.
Can Zielbock remind me of things?
If you want it to. Reminders are optional and only apply to the device you set them up on. You'll find them in Settings → "Notifications". Once a month, on your savings day, Zielbock reminds you to check your balances. For each savings goal, you get a reminder one month ahead and on the due date. Notifications never show amounts.
How is the monthly contribution calculated?
It's based on the target amount, the due date, the current balance of the linked savings account and that account's interest rate. You pay in once a month on your savings day, which you can set in Settings → "Savings day".
Which devices are supported?
iPhone with iOS 17 or later and iPad with iPadOS 17 or later.
